Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur, France
Golf Frégate Provence is an 18-hole championship course designed by renowned American architect Ronald Fream and opened in 1992. Located near Bandol in southern France between Marseille and Toulon, the course sits on elevated terrain within the four-star Frégate Provence Resort.
The par 72 layout spans 6,200+ meters and features balanced, varied routing through vineyards and pine groves. The course is distinguished by 15 Mediterranean Sea viewpoints offering spectacular vistas. Set in a Mediterranean landscape with natural vegetation, the design maximizes the dramatic setting while providing wind protection from the surrounding pines.
The course presents notable challenge and appeal to skilled golfers. Frégate is considered one of Europe's finest courses in southern France and is complemented by Frégalon, a 9-hole par 29 training course designed by Fream specifically for instruction and short-game development.
The facility operates as a members' club with visitor access available, and includes an on-site golf academy. The course has earned environmental certification and actively hosts competitions throughout the year, reflecting its established standing in French competitive golf.
