The course is characterized by a classic "up north" design with maple, birch, and pine trees lining fairways throughout. The layout includes six par 4s, four par 5s, and four par 3s, with strategic bunkering and water hazards integrated throughout. Notable signature holes include Hole 5, a hidden tee-box par 3 through the woods; Hole 8, featuring the course's signature pond; and Hole 15, a double dog-leg par 5 requiring two well-played shots through the woods.
The course presents moderate to challenging difficulty, with Hole 10 (a 430-yard par 4) and Hole 12 (a 195-yard par 3 with an intense uphill slope) among the most difficult. Hole 11 is noted as one of the prettiest holes, particularly during fall foliage. Course management is essential, as several holes feature penalty areas, complex green slopes, and strategic bunkering that reward accuracy over distance. The smallest green on the course is located at Hole 9, adding to its challenge.
