Pine Meadow Golf Club is an 18-hole public access course located in Mundelein, Illinois. Originally designed by William Flynn in 1927 as a private course for the University of St. Mary of the Lake, the course was redesigned by Joe Lee, Rocky Roquemore, and Joe Jemsek when it reopened to the public in 1985. Golf Digest ranked it the No. 1 best "new public golf course in America" in 1986, and it remains among Illinois's top 10 public access courses. The course features seven sets of tees ranging from 7,238 to 5,272 yards, accommodating golfers of all skill levels. The layout spans 35 acres of fairways with 86 sand bunkers and 3 grass bunkers, along with 220,000 square feet of tees and greens. The course is characterized by picturesque scenery, with fairways lined by 250-year-old oak trees, 60-foot pines, maples, and shagbark hickory trees, creating a fair test of golf skills while maintaining natural beauty and wildlife viewing opportunities. Pine Meadow is also recognized for its exceptional learning center and practice facility, considered the best in Northern Illinois, featuring grass tees, bunkers, chipping and pitching greens, and a state-of-the-art fitting center.
