Warkworth Golf Club

Auckland, New Zealand

Warkworth Golf Club, established in 1908, is one of New Zealand's oldest golf clubs, located conveniently near Auckland on the northern motorway. The course measures 5,578 metres and features 18 holes laid out across gently rolling terrain with ample tree cover and superb fairways. Water features enhance the natural landscape, adding both aesthetic and strategic elements to play. The club's course history reflects its heritage: the original nine holes opened in 1935 with a modest bach clubhouse, designed and constructed by members and volunteers embodying Kiwi ingenuity. Nine holes were subsequently expanded to twelve, with the final six holes completed after World War Two. The course showcases the dedication and character of its community-built origins. Set within a picturesque setting with natural beauty and mature tree plantings, Warkworth offers a traditional golf experience characteristic of established provincial courses. The gently rolling landscape provides moderate difficulty with varied hole designs, while water features and strategic tree placement create engaging playing conditions for golfers of different skill levels.
