Kawerau Golf Course

Bay of Plenty, New Zealand

Kawerau Golf Course is an 18-hole golf course located on flat, easy-walking terrain at the south end of Kawerau township in the Bay of Plenty, approximately 30 minutes from Whakatāne and 40 kilometres from Rotorua. The picturesque course is situated adjacent to the Tarawera River with mountain views and native birdlife enhancing the playing experience. The layout features relatively gentle terrain suitable for all skill levels, though the 6th, 15th, and 18th holes present notable challenges that test golfers' abilities. The course operates year-round without requiring advance tee-off bookings, making it accessible and informal. Weekly twilight golf sessions run every Tuesday from 3:30pm to 5:30pm. The course is complemented by full clubhouse facilities including a bar, kitchen, and lounge available for hire. Limited golf cart hire is available with advance booking recommended. Green fees are affordable, with 18-hole rounds priced at $40 for visitors, or $25 with an EBOP passport. The club welcomes visitors and offers various membership options with monthly payment plans available.
