Cardigan Golf Club, established in 1895, is a links-style course situated approximately 2.5 miles outside Cardigan town centre on elevated ground overlooking Cardigan Bay. The course is built on natural terrain with panoramic views from every hole, featuring fairways that follow the natural humps and hollows of the landscape, predominantly delineated by gorse and wild plants. Known for its fair and true greens with excellent natural drainage, the course remains playable year-round and is rarely on temporary greens. The layout takes advantage of sea breezes that often influence play. The final four holes are particularly memorable, offering striking coastal views. Listed among the top 20 courses in Wales, Cardigan is recognised for its challenging yet fair design. The club, member-owned and operated by an elected committee, maintains a welcoming atmosphere for visitors and societies. Recently, Wales Golf awarded Cardigan Golf Club the Golf Club of the Year 2023 award, recognising the course's outstanding greens quality and distinctive character.
