American Dunes Golf Club is located on the eastern shores of Lake Michigan in Grand Haven, Michigan, occupying the historic grounds of the former Grand Haven Golf Club. The course was redesigned by Jack Nicklaus and features sculpted terrain through deep sands characteristic of the region's landscape. Built with a mission to honor American military service members and their families, American Dunes serves as the birthplace of Folds of Honor, a nonprofit supporting the spouses and children of fallen and disabled service members and first responder families.
The course is distinguished by its patriotic purpose and design philosophy centered on American values. Described as "an instant American classic" by Golf Architecture Editor Ran Morrissett, the layout incorporates the natural dune terrain along Lake Michigan. The venue functions as both a championship golf course and gathering place for patriots, featuring the CAVU Fighter Squadron Bar and hosting televised events on the Golf Channel. American Dunes has contributed over $3.5 million to Folds of Honor in its first four years of operation, demonstrating its commitment to supporting military families while providing a unique golfing experience.
