Seaforth Golf Course

Ontario, Canada

Seaforth Golf & Country Club is an 18-hole course located in Seaforth, Ontario, that opened in 1960 on what was originally a family farm. The course features a mix of terrain including a historic sugar bush, with holes named after local history, family heritage, and notable figures including professional golfer Mike Weir, who won his first tournament here in 1983. The layout includes par threes, fours, and fives with varying difficulty levels. Several holes present distinct challenges: Hole #2 "Haney's Horror" is the #1 handicap hole with out-of-bounds along the right side; Hole #4 features a small green with creek and bunker hazards requiring strategic risk assessment; Hole #12 is a par three over a pond. The course incorporates natural features such as creeks that meander through the sugar bush area, grass bunkers, and mature trees including maples. The course offers multiple tee options to accommodate various skill levels. Notable design elements include strategic bunkering, sloping greens, and narrow fairways that require accuracy. The setting blends golf with local agricultural history, including references to former gravel pits and clay extraction areas that have been integrated into the course design.
