Laggan Brae
Comrie, Perth and Kinross, United Kingdom
Comrie Golf Club is a 9-hole course designed by the renowned architect James Braid, located in the heart of Perthshire. The course, known as Laggan Braes, makes exceptional use of natural topography, with no two holes sharing similar characteristics. Set within a landscape of birch, pine, and larch woodland, the course offers consistent views across Strathearn and provides opportunities to spot local wildlife including red squirrels, deer, and birds of prey.
The course features well-shaped greens, some elevated, that test approach play and short-game skills. While bunkers are present, they are not excessively punitive. Multiple tee options accommodate golfers of all abilities, with challenging carries from the men's medal tees (Blue), while forward tees and additional senior/beginner positions on holes 3, 5, and 7 provide accessible alternatives. The 9th hole is noted as a strong finishing hole, with a gently sloping fairway leading to the green in front of the clubhouse. The course has attracted notable attention, including a visit from golf vlogger Erik Anders Lang as part of a Visit Scotland tour.
