The Hay is a nine-hole par-3 short course at Pebble Beach, originally created in 1957 by Head Professional Peter Hay as one of America's first par-3 courses. Redesigned by Tiger Woods in 2021, the course features holes ranging from 47 to 106 yards, each named after notable golf figures and moments in Pebble Beach history. The course's signature hole is an exact replica of the famous No. 7 at Pebble Beach Golf Links, a 106-yard par-3 positioned atop dramatic coastal cliffs overlooking Arrowhead Point. Other notable holes include a blind par-3 styled after Alister MacKenzie's design at Lahinch, and greens shaped to honor champions like Tom Watson, Jack Nicklaus, and Tiger Woods himself. Located along Stillwater Cove with sweeping ocean views, The Hay combines accessibility with sophistication, designed for players of all abilities and ages. The course includes a 20,000-square-foot putting green spanning 100 yards with multiple routing options. Woods' redesign emphasizes playability with various club selections, making it welcoming to juniors, families, and recreational golfers while maintaining the prestige associated with Pebble Beach.
