The Links at Spanish Bay is an 18-hole championship golf course located along 17-Mile Drive in Pebble Beach, California. Designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr. in collaboration with Sandy Tatum and Tom Watson, the course was built on the site of an abandoned sand mine and opened nearly 40 years ago. The course features a distinctive links-style layout with rolling fairways that meander through sweeping sand dunes and Monterey Pines before finishing along Spanish Bay Beach. Playing to a par 72, the course is characterized by strategic shot-making with risk-reward decisions on nearly every hole. Notable features include pot bunkers, marsh hazards, elevated greens, and spectacular Pacific Ocean views throughout. The Links at Spanish Bay is ranked among America's best public courses and regularly hosts the professional TaylorMade Pebble Beach Invitational. The course is distinguished by its scenic finishing holes along the wind-swept coast and the iconic Spanish Bay bagpiper who performs each evening. As of March 2026, the course will undergo a comprehensive renovation led by Gil Hanse to enhance the design, upgrade infrastructure, and improve sustainability.
