The 2026 Couples Championship is held September 4–6, 2026, at The Shoals in Muscle Shoals, Alabama, with accommodations at the Renaissance Shoals Resort & Spa. The package includes two nights lodging, two tournament rounds, one practice round, breakfast and lunch each tournament day, a pairings party on Friday evening, a tournament dinner on Saturday night, prizes, and gifts. Registration is now full for 2026. The competition is a two-round couples (pairs) event: Saturday's round uses a Scramble format, and Sunday's round uses a Texas Shamble format. Each player is required to use a minimum of two tee shots per nine holes per round (four drives per player per round). Team handicap for the Scramble is calculated as: (70% of low handicap + 30% of high handicap) ÷ 2. Team handicap for the Texas Shamble is 70% of the sum of both players' handicaps. Separate Senior tee boxes are available for both men and women aged 65 and over. Participants are required to post a minimum of 6 scores between January 1, 2026 and August 15, 2026 to ensure current handicap indexes are used. Venue

Senator

AL, United States

The Senator is a Scottish-Links style course at Capitol Hill Golf Club in Prattville, Alabama, located eight miles north of Montgomery. As one of three 18-hole championship courses on the 1,500-acre facility, the Senator features distinctive design elements including more than 140 pot-hole bunkers and mounds ranging from 20 to 40 feet in height that conceal the cart path and adjacent holes from view. The course was recognized among Golf Magazine's Top 10 New Courses in the nation and hosts the LPGA's Epson Tour Guardian Championship annually each September. Recent course improvements include the installation of new TifEagle Ultradwarf greens in 2020, enhancing playability and presentation. The Scottish-Links aesthetic distinguishes the Senator from the facility's other courses—the Judge, known for its dramatic river views and island green, and the Legislator, a traditional design featuring cypress swamps and bluff views along the Alabama River.
