Highland Oaks Golf Course is a 36-hole complex located in Dothan, Alabama, featuring three championship nine-hole courses and a nine-hole short course. The three nines—Highlands, Magnolia, and Marshwood—each possess distinct characteristics and designs. The Highlands course is relatively open with four holes featuring lakes in play, including a peninsula green. Magnolia is defined by specimen magnolia trees on elevated terrain accessed via a 1,000-foot wooden bridge spanning a marsh. Marshwood is notable for its exceptional par-5 sixth hole, which stretches 701 yards from the championship tees. The Highlands/Magnolia combination earned recognition from Golf Digest's "Places to Play" as one of the nation's great value courses. The complex underwent significant improvements in 2020, including re-grassing championship nines with TifEagle Ultradwarf greens and a complete redesign of the practice area. The nine-hole Short Course accommodates all skill levels, winding through pine trees with three water-hazard holes.
