Established in 1887, Brighton & Hove Golf Club is the oldest golf club in Sussex. The course features nine holes with 18 tees, providing different experiences on the front and back nines through varied tee positions for men, women, and shorter courses. Set within the South Downs National Park, the downland-links layout offers magnificent views across the South Downs, towards the sea, and over Brighton and Hove, with visibility extending to the Isle of Wight on clear days.
The course is built on naturally draining chalk soil, which enables play throughout winter and ensures consistent playing conditions year-round. The first five holes follow the top of Round Hill, offering particularly scenic vistas. Known for its excellent greens and superb maintenance, the course presents a genuine test of golf. The mature fairways and greens are continuously developed by the club's greenkeeping team. In 2023, the course was reconfirmed as a Sussex Local Wildlife Site, reflecting its commitment to preserving flora and fauna. The club welcomes both members and visitors in a welcoming environment.
