Freshly Discovered: This Week's New Open Golf Events
140 new competitions added this week -- from Irish links to the hills of Catalonia
Every week our crawlers scour club websites, tour operator pages, and golf society listings across the globe, pulling in open events that visiting golfers might otherwise never hear about. This week we added 140 new events to the platform, spanning 11 countries from Ireland to Japan, and from the Scottish Highlands to the Costa del Sol. Below we spotlight a handful of the most compelling events coming up in the next three months.
Gents Singles Stableford Senior Open
Ardglass Golf Club -- County Down, Northern Ireland
Ardglass sits on one of the most dramatic stretches of the Irish coastline, with views across the Irish Sea and a links layout that rewards accuracy over length. The detail that sets it apart from almost anywhere else in golf is its clubhouse -- dating to around 1405, it is widely regarded as the oldest golf clubhouse in the world. Unpretentious, welcoming, and genuinely historic, this is the kind of place that makes amateur golf worthwhile. Less than two hours from Dublin and 30 minutes from Royal County Down, it fits neatly into any Irish golf itinerary.
International Mid Amateur Championship
Club de Golf Vallromanes -- Catalonia, 25km from Barcelona
A 54-hole scratch stroke play event on a Hawtree-designed course set around Torre Tabernera, an 18th-century manor built on the site of an ancient medieval castle just north of Barcelona. The event qualifies as an FCG ranking event, giving your result genuine competitive currency. Fifty-four holes of scratch stroke play near Barcelona in late May is not a combination that comes around often -- and spring in Catalonia is hard to beat.
Open Feminin -- Ugolf Golf du Coudray-Montceaux
Ugolf Golf du Coudray-Montceaux -- Essonne, 30km southeast of Paris
Designed by C. K. Cotton and established in 1960 on a former aristocratic estate, Coudray-Montceaux winds through ancient oak woodland with greens widely regarded among the finest in the Ile-de-France. The ladies-only individual Stableford is an excellent opportunity for female golfers to compete on a course of real quality within easy reach of Paris -- close to the A6 and 20km from Orly Airport.
Surbiton Professional Tournament
Surbiton Golf Club -- Claygate, Surrey
A shotgun-start Pro-Am where teams of three amateurs are paired with a Surrey PGA professional -- sponsored teams can choose from the pro entry list or bring their own. Surbiton has been a well-regarded Surrey club since 1895, set in green countryside with views toward London. The package includes a bacon roll and coffee on arrival, practice facilities, 18-hole medal competition, and a two-course carvery with prizes. Note: players need at least three qualifying scores from the previous 12 months and entries close 17 April.
Spring Junior Adult Foursomes Stableford
Warrington Golf Club -- Warrington, Cheshire
Founded in 1903 and set at the highest point in Warrington, the course offers commanding views across Cheshire, the Pennines, and the Welsh hills. This junior foursomes event pairs younger golfers with adults in an alternate-shot Stableford format -- a brilliant structure for introducing new players to competitive golf. The shared responsibility of foursomes softens the pressure on the junior, while Stableford scoring means a bad hole does not derail the whole round.
KNAX Kids Open 2026 -- Munich Series
Münchner Golf Club Strasslach and Thalkirchen -- Munich, Germany
A well-structured junior series running through 2026 across two courses operated by one of Germany's oldest golf clubs, founded in 1910. Open to children in age groups AK8, AK10, and AK12, played from dedicated kids' tees under flight supervision. Stableford over 9 holes, with net classes A, B, and C alongside a daily gross prize. The kick-off event is 22 April, qualification rounds run through the summer, and winners progress to a grand finale in October. The Thalkirchen course sits on the banks of the Isar River within the city of Munich itself -- a remarkable setting for young golfers.
