As seems to often be the case, you can also grab a bargain by booking into an open competition because the entry fees for visitors are often so much lower than normal vistor green fees. So what are you waiting for &#8211; get those competitive juices flowing and save money at the same time!<\/p><p>There seems to be a common theme amongst the Welsh open events of Betterball and Am\/Am formats rather than hardcore individual competitions. The club was founded in 1908 with an original nine-hole layout, which was extended to a full 18-hole course at the end of the 1960s. Located on the south-facing coastline of Cardigan Bay on the Ll\u0177n Peninsula, the course offers fantastic views stretching across miles of coastline to the mountains of Snowdonia. The course uniquely combines tree-lined parkland golf on the opening holes with links golf on the closing nine holes. The course has no par-fives, which makes scoring particularly challenging. The course is sheltered to the north by the Wenallt Hills, with the historic 13th-century Castell Coch providing a picturesque backdrop. Founded in 1914, Whitchurch has developed into a respected parkland layout noted for its challenging Par 3 and Par 4 holes. The course features fast, tricky greens and strategic bunkering designed to penalise wayward shots.
